This article explains how sellers can add or update their profile details and payout information on Trustap. Covers first-time setup, updating existing details, and what happens if payout information is not added.
This article applies to sellers. Buyers do not need to add payout information unless they plan to sell on Trustap in the future.

1. Before you begin
To receive funds from a completed transaction, sellers must have both their personal profile details and payout (bank account) information complete and accurate on their Trustap account. Trustap cannot release funds until this information has been provided.
Before updating your profile, make sure you have the following to hand:
- Your Trustap login credentials.
- Your personal details (name, date of birth, address).
- Your bank account details (for payout setup).
- Any identity documents that may be requested, depending on your account type and country.
2. How to add or update your profile
Follow the steps below to access and update your profile information.
How you log in depends on how you use Trustap:
- Direct (in-app) users: Log in at the Trustap login page using your existing credentials.
- Third-party platform users (marketplace or ecommerce): If you have already registered, log in with your existing credentials. If you have not yet registered, use the link provided in the your confirmation email you received from noreply@support.trustap.com when a buyer made a payment for one of your listings, or click the "Register with Trustap" (or similar wording) button on the third-party platform. Using the correct link ensures your transactions are linked to your account.
Once logged in, navigate to the My Profile tab. Depending on your device, this may appear in the left-hand menu or along the bottom of the screen. This is where you manage all personal and payout information.
First-time setup
Follow the guided setup and enter all requested information. The details required will vary depending on your account type (Personal or Business) and your country of registration. All fields presented to sellers are mandatory in order to enable payouts.
When completing your profile for the first time, you must follow the steps in the order presented by the system. For example, you cannot add your bank account details before your personal information has been entered. Each section must be completed before the next one becomes available.
Updating existing details
Once your profile has been completed for the first time, you can update any section independently at any time. Find the section you wish to change and click Edit. There is no required order when making updates.

3. Bank account and payout details
Adding your bank account details is a separate step within your profile. Your bank account is where Trustap will send your funds once a transaction is complete and the holding period has ended.
For full guidance on adding or updating your bank account, see the dedicated article: How to Add or Update Your Bank Account for Payouts
4. Why Trustap collects this information
Trustap uses Stripe, a regulated financial platform, to process seller payouts. As part of this, Trustap is required to collect, verify, and maintain identity information for all sellers. This is necessary to:
- Prevent fraud: Verified identity information helps protect all parties in a transaction.
- Meet regulatory requirements: Trustap operates under financial services regulations that require identity verification for sellers.
- Ensure accurate payouts: Verified bank details confirm that funds are sent to the correct person and account.
Only information that is essential for these purposes is requested. All requested fields are mandatory for sellers.
5. What happens if I don't add my details?
If your profile or payout information is incomplete, Trustap will be unable to transfer your funds. Your balance will be held securely until the required information has been provided.
If funds are not transferred within 90 days of the original payment, Trustap may be required by its regulators to remove the balance from your account. After this point, the funds cannot be withdrawn. Please ensure your profile and payout details are complete as soon as possible after your first transaction.
