An overview of how Trustap is regulated, our partnership with Stripe, and the compliance and security measures that protect every transaction.
Trustap is an online platform that connects buyers and sellers of goods and services. We handle all payments and payouts for our users, ensuring a smooth and secure transaction experience from start to finish.
Our partnership with Stripe
To provide the best possible payment service, Trustap is a verified partner of Stripe, a leading payment technology company regulated in Europe by the Central Bank of Ireland and the UK Financial Conduct Authority. This partnership brings several benefits to Trustap users:
- Payment security: Trustap draws on Stripe's advanced encryption and fraud-prevention tools to protect your payment information and guard against unauthorised charges.
- Compliance: Stripe meets the regulatory requirements for payments in every country where Trustap operates, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards.
- Global reach: Stripe supports over 135 currencies and payment methods, so you can pay from anywhere in the world and receive payouts in a wide range of widely-used currencies. Check this article to see if Trustap is available in your country.
"Know Your Customer" (KYC) obligations require Stripe to collect and maintain information on all Stripe and Trustap account holders. These requirements come from financial regulators and are designed to prevent abuse of the financial system. The specific information collected varies from country to country.
Additional compliance & security measures
Trustap is a transaction platform designed to protect buyers and sellers from being scammed, whether they're transacting online or in person with strangers. Our process combines payment and delivery into one system, backed by the following measures:
- PCI DSS Level 1: through our partnership with Stripe, Trustap is a regulated financial institution in the EU, certified to PCI DSS Level 1 — the most stringent level of certification available.
- PSD2 & SCA: we support PSD2 regulations in Europe and are compliant with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements.
- Dynamic authentication: every transaction is scanned, with additional authentication triggered dynamically whenever it's required.
- Cloud infrastructure: Trustap runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Identity management: we use Keycloak, an identity and access management solution that helps ensure compliance with GDPR and other data regulations.
